Locality Introduction and Neighborhood

Dronagiri, situated in Navi Mumbai and part of Raigarh district, is bordered by Jawahar Lal Nehru Port Township to the north, Uran to the east, and Karanja Creek to the south. Although still under development and lacking basic infrastructure, the locality is set to benefit from several significant infrastructure projects announced by the government. These include the Nerul-Uran railway line, which is expected to improve connectivity and boost housing demand. Numerous projects by developers like Villa Group and Prajapati Group are currently under construction, including notable projects such as Excelencia, Dev Luxuria, Aryan Esplande, and Prajapati Magnum.

Physical Infrastructure

Currently, Dronagiri has limited connectivity. The under-construction Navi Mumbai International Airport is about 10 km away, and a proposed railway station in Dronagiri aims to enhance accessibility. The nearest existing railway station is Panvel, approximately 31 km away. The closest Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is the Navi Mumbai SEZ (NMSEZ), a joint venture between Reliance Industries and CIDCO.

Social and Retail Infrastructure

The area hosts a few hospitals, including Care Point Hospital, Palvi Hospital, and Indira Gandhi Hospital. Educational institutions in the vicinity include Citizens High School, Rotary English Medium High School & Junior College, and Dronagiri High School. Local markets are present in the nearby neighborhood of Uran, with Glomax being the only shopping center around Dronagiri.

Dronagiri's strategic location near the Arabian Sea makes it a significant industrial area. Key industries include the ONGC Plant, the LPG Terminal of Bharat Petroleum, the JNPA Residential Township, and Karanja Sea Port. The presence of these industries is expected to drive demand for affordable housing, contingent on improved connectivity and infrastructure.

Beaches

• Pirwadi Beach: This 2 km long beach is one of the few untouched beaches in Navi Mumbai, located about 3 km from Uran city. It is known for its serene beauty and ecological importance, supporting diverse flora and fauna.

Dronagiri Fort
